Guides

Settings and preferences

Where everything lives: your profile, language and theme, security, connected accounts, alerts, categorisation, subscription and data. Plus what each section is actually for.

Settings is organised by what you are trying to change rather than by how the app is built.

Profile

Your display name, an avatar, and your phone number.

The avatar can be an icon and colour rather than a photo. The palette is shared with tags and filters, so a colour means the same thing wherever you see it.

Language and theme

English or Dutch, switched with a plain text toggle. The whole interface follows, including emails.

Light, dark, or system. System follows your device, which is usually what you want, and means the app is dark in the evening without you doing anything.

There is also replay the tour if you want the introduction again.

Separate from product email and off unless you turn it on. Alerts and account notices are not marketing and are unaffected by it.

Security

Change password, which does not sign out your other sessions.

Reset two-factor authentication, for a new phone or a different authenticator app. The important detail: your old authenticator stops working the moment you confirm the new one, so do this while you still have the old device. See creating your account.

Connected accounts

Every connection, when it last synced, and whether it needs attention.

This is where you reconnect an expired bank consent, replace a revoked exchange key, upload a new DeGiro CSV, or disconnect something.

Worth checking when a number looks wrong. A stale connection is the failure that makes everything else quietly inaccurate, because the last known balance keeps being shown.

Alerts and notifications

What you are told about and how it reaches you. See alerts and notifications.

Categorisation

How transactions are labelled, and how much of the work you have contributed versus what Gylder inferred. See transactions and categorisation.

Manual entries

Everything you entered by hand, in one list, with how long since each was updated. The place to find the valuation you have not touched in a year. See adding a manual asset.

Subscription

Your plan, when it renews or ends, and the billing portal for payment details and invoices. See plans and what changes.

Data and privacy

Export everything, or delete your account permanently. See exporting and deleting your data.

Feedback

Sends a message to the team. Bug reports, ideas and anything else. It goes to a person rather than a queue.
